Job Description

For our state-of-the art 600+ person Lubbock, TX cheese and whey manufacturing facility, Leprino is seeking Production Team Members (Skilled).

Leprino Foods broke ground on the $1 Billion facility in the summer of 2022. The plant becomes operational in 2024 with Phase 1 and will become fully operational by 2026 with Phase 2.The (skilled) Cheese Team Member position is responsible for the efficient operation of equipment and production of high-quality products in the cheese production department, while following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and safe work practices as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend basic English language
  • Minimum one year prior manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and to make adjustments or corrective action as necessary
  • Basic math skills to be able to perform mathematical functions
  • Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures
  • Ability to maintain clean work area according to good manufacturing processes
  • Good communication skills to communicate with co-workers and oncoming/outgoing shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior cheese and/or dairy foods manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with manufacturing software system working with touch screens
  • Experience in machine operation and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position will be exposed to a production operations environment that includes both wet and dry production areas with loud noise and varying degrees of temperature from freezer to extreme heat. Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods. Climbing of stairs, standing and walking, bending and reaching, and the ability to lift and carry upwards of 55lbs. may be required.
