POSITION SUMMARY:

The SRS Training Manager is responsible for the oversight and direction of the Ski + Ride School training program. Key responsibilities include recruiting and hiring trainers, planning and implementing training programs, and developing training resources. This role requires adherence to all Winter Park policies and procedures, applicable federal, state, and local laws, and health and safety codes. This is a 9 month role.

WAGE:

The base salary pay below represents average salary pay for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resort's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Salary: $60,548 (Annualized, 9 month role)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Oversee all aspects of SRS training. This includes selecting trainer staff, designing curricula, scheduling clinics, encouraging staff participation, ensuring quality, and fostering employee satisfaction.
  • Manage to a budget for labor and expenses.
  • Coach, train, and offer feedback to others in a professional and supportive manner.
  • Deliver training on a variety of topics regularly.
  • Coordinate with HR and Recruiting to conduct training for the SRS leadership team as well as first-year and returning SRS staff.
  • Directly manage SRS training staff including hiring, disciplinary action, scheduling, payroll entry, and professional development.
  • Support employees in setting and achieving goals, both individually and as part of the SRS team.
  • Oversee the financial aid program for SRS including tracking training participation, managing application and approval processes, and ensuring timely submission of documentation.
  • Develop and maintain training materials including handbooks, SOPs, clinic outlines, curricula, etc.
  • Model professional leadership while promoting a positive, safe, and enjoyable work environment.
  • Lead staff recognition, engagement, empowerment, and evaluation efforts.
  • Collaborate with SRS leadership to refine ad grow school programs and lesson products.
  • Monitor lesson service quality and training clinic quality. Prepare reports and insights for SRS leadership.
  • Help manage accident risk related to SRS operations and proactively reduce potential hazards for staff and guests.
  • Maintain a working relationship with PSIA. Coordinate traveling clinics and exams and ensure successful in-house events.
  • Represent Winter Park SRS at PSIA and snowsports industry events.
  • Develop peer relationships with other resorts to foster innovation and enhance the training program.
  • Perform frontline duties as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5+ seasons as a PSIA/AASI certified instructor.
  • 3+ seasons working in a training capacity for a ski & ride school
  • 2+ seasons in a supervisory role for a ski + ride school
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite is required.
  • Experience scheduling staff is required.
  • Business experience including budget, accounting, sales, and customer service is highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (including written, verbal, email, and phone) are required.
  • Highly organized with ability to multi task.
  • Previous experience with RTP, Flaik, and/or Workday is preferred.
  • Must be able to learn new computer programs.
  • This position is required to work weekends and holidays.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • PSIA/AASI level 3 or above (Alpine/Snowboard) is required.
  • PSIA/AASI national team or regional educational staff member is preferred.
  • PSIA/AASI level 1 in an alternate discipline is preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
